After Maggie’s List endorsed Ann Marie Buerkle in 2010, she defeated incumbent Rep. Dan Maffei by a narrow 567-vote margin. She represented New York’s 25th congressional district from 2011-2013 and eventually became both Commissioner and Acting Chairman of the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
