“We are thrilled to announce our first official round of endorsed candidates for federal office in 2022. Voters made history in 2020 by electing the largest-ever group of conservative women to federal office, and we are ready to build upon those gains in upcoming elections”, stated Sandra B. Mortham, Chairman of Maggie’s List and former Florida Secretary of State.
“Maggie’s List-endorsed candidates understand that the only way to move our country in a positive direction is to focus on fiscal responsibility, strong national defense and personal responsibility. Our grassroots network is already hard at work earning support for Maggie’s List candidates in their primary and general election races, and we look forward to helping them secure victories this year and next,” she continued.
Since the election of President Trump in 2016, Maggie’s List has seen a rise in the number of conservative women running for office. In light of the #MeToo movement, women’s activism is more important than ever.
According to the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP), women comprise more than 56% of all voters, but less than 27% of our representation. Maggie’s List’s mission is to equalize those numbers and empower women to take a stand and run for what they believe in.
