Washington, D.C. – Maggie’s List, the country's leading political action committee focused on electing conservative women to federal public office, is pleased to announce a successful primary election day for our endorsed candidates in Maryland.
“Congratulations to our Maggie’s List candidates in Maryland, all of whom proudly represent the values of fiscal conservatism, limited government and strong national security. It’s time for new leadership in Maryland’s 2nd and 3rd Congressional Districts. Yuripzy Morgan and Nicolee Ambrose represent the modern values and views of Marylanders. Together, Reps. Dutch Ruppersberger and John Sarbanes have spent many decades in politics. They have grown out of touch with the struggles facing families today and it’s long-past time for them both to retire,” said Kathy Szeliga, Maggie’s List Maryland Chairman.
Maggie’s List has seen a dramatic rise in the number of conservative women running for office during the last several election cycles. In light of the #MeToo movement, women’s activism is more important than ever.
According to the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP), women comprise more than 56% of all voters, but less than 27% of our representation. Maggie’s List’s mission is to equalize those numbers and empower women to take a stand and run for what they believe in.
