Maggie’s List Proudly
Endorses Erika Harold for Attorney General
of Illinois
The First Ever
Endorsement of an Attorney General
(Washington, DC) –
Leading PAC for fiscally conservative women makes first ever endorsement of a
state attorney general. Maggie’s List is proud to announce the endorsement of
Erika Harold for Attorney General of Illinois. Endorsing stellar state
candidates such as Erika Harold, reinforces our decision to support women who are
running for statewide offices. Maggie’s List, a political action committee
(PAC) is dedicated to electing fiscally conservative women to office.
Erika Harold is a
graduate of Harvard Law School, and is a former Miss America. Serving as Miss
America in 2003, Erika has national advocacy with hands on experience in local
communities, fighting for children and putting an end to cyberbullying by
sharing her own personal experience. As attorney general, Harold will uphold
the highest legal standards while she continues her legacy of fighting for
children. As a fiscal conservative, Erika Harold will face the challenge of
fiscal mismanagement head on.
“Erika Harold is a
proven leader who brings so much to the State of Illinois,” states Sandra B.
Mortham, Chairman of Maggie’s List and former Florida Secretary of State. “Her
service in Illinois, coupled with her relentless leadership and desire to work
on issues that directly impact citizens and businesses in the Land of Lincoln,
make her the right choice. We know she is the right candidate to serve as
Illinois attorney general because she respects the need for increased personal
responsibility, fiscal conservatism, and fairly upholding law and order for the
citizens of Illinois.”
Candidate Erika
Harold states, "I am honored and humbled to be endorsed by Maggie’s List.
This important endorsement shows the national attention and interest in our
campaign to respect the Constitution, uphold the rule of law, and bring reform
to the citizens of this great state."
Harold knows the
problems facing Illinoisans. Throughout her life, Erika has faced many
adversities. Through education, hard work and determination, Erika has overcome
many challenges and knows how to relate and represent the people of Illinois,
especially in a legal setting. Since graduating from Harvard Law School, she
has dedicated her time to enhancing the profession of law in Illinois by
serving on the Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Equality. Harold also serves
as a Commissioner on the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism.
She was also an active member of the Lawyers in the Classroom program,
providing instruction on the U.S legal system, and coached high school students
through Mock Trial Competitions.
“Erika Harold upholds
the values and leadership that Maggie’s List looks for in effective and
principled leaders. As a fiscal conservative, Erika will work tirelessly to
make sure Illinois’ future is protected and constitutional rights are upheld,”
states Sandra B. Mortham.
Women currently hold
only seven attorney general seats, according to the CAWP. Currently three of
the seven women serving as attorney general are fiscal conservatives. This
abysmal number is something that Maggie’s List works to correct by helping to
elect fiscally conservative women to the U.S. House, Senate, governor and now
attorney general seats. Maggie's List is proud to have Florida's Attorney
General, Pam Bondi, on our Board of Directors!
