“Maggie’s List is proud to stand behind strong women who espouse the conservative principles that make America great. Despite the false narrative promoted by liberal elites, female candidates do not always lean to the left, and Maggie’s List is working hard to build awareness and support for our endorsed primary candidates,” said SandraB. Mortham, Chairman of Maggie’s List and former Florida Secretary of State.
“Maggie’s List members across the country are standing together in support of conservative women in 2020. The energy emanating from our grassroots is palpable, and we are proud to stand as a constructive force in 2020 and beyond. We look forward to supporting our endorsed candidates, women who espouse our values of fiscal conservatism, small government, personal responsibility and strong national security this year,” she continued.
Since the election of President Trump in 2016, Maggie’s List has seen a rise in the number of conservative women running for office. In light of the #MeToo movement, women’s activism is more important than ever. The outstanding women, endorsed to date by Maggie’s List, have a path to victory, combined with positive policy positions that stand in stark contrast to the anger and vitriol from the left that is attempting to tear our nation apart.
According to the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP), 59.3% of eligible women reported they voted during the 2016 election, yet only hold 23.7% of 535 seats in the U.S House and Senate. Maggie’s List mission is to equalize those numbers and empower women to take a stand and run for what they believe in.
